Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently revealed an unexpected source behind his daredevil stunts—not a Hollywood action star, but the classic cartoon series Tom and Jerry. In a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, the actor said he has long drawn inspiration from the high-energy chaos and physical comedy of the cartoon, calling it “brutal” and “the most violent series” despite being meant for children.
The comment came in light of social media users comparing his past stunt—where he performed an airborne sequence similar to Tom Cruise’s recent Mission Impossible scene involving a biplane. Many noted that Akshay’s version had fewer safety mechanisms and was done years earlier.
“I love watching Tom and Jerry,” Akshay said. “Though it’s categorized as a children’s show, if you really observe, it’s packed with intense action. There’s a lot of violence, and I’ve even recreated a few of their gags in my films.”
